Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is considered the “Jewel of the Sierra” with its stunning blue hues encased by the deep forests that surround it.
Encircled by majestic mountain peaks, Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in America. The neighboring areas are home to many mountain communities with an abundance of wildlife.
One of those communities is Glenbrook, which is about 750 acres, with only 150 of those being developed.
It offers residents a private nine-hole golf course, vast meadows, and pristine beaches for a unique outdoor experience.
The next prominent area on the map would be Zephyr Cove. This is a great place for lots of activities on the beach.
This beach has volleyball courts, chairs, and umbrella rentals for a relaxing day by the water, and the very popular Sunset Bar & Grille with beach cocktail service. Additionally, the MS Dixie also launches from this beach where one can go abroad on a cruise that will take you on a lovely day trip to Emerald Bay, and you’ll see all the sights around the lake.
Next, you will find the area of Round Hill. This is where you will find a family-friendly beach, Round Hill Pines Beach Resort.
It includes a snack and beach bar, kayaking and SUP rentals, bikes, and pedal boats.
Traveling along HWY 50 and SR 207 the areas of Kingsbury and Stateline welcome you. Here you will find a great combination of the indoors and outdoors like hiking through Rabe Meadows along the trees and finding yourself to the shores of Lake Tahoe at Nevada Beach where you will enjoy the lake and mountain views.
Next no visit would be complete without enjoying the world-class entertainment at the casinos that line the main street of Stateline, or golfing at Edgewood on one of the most beautiful scenic golf courses in America.
A final must see is Incline Village, which is the largest township on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe along the East Shore.
Named after the Great Incline Tramway built by loggers in 1878, it is one of the most extraordinary places in Tahoe.
It offers a little of everything, from private beaches to small shops of handmade goods, and a large recreation center, it’s like living in a country club.
Connected to the Incline Village area is Crystal Bay, which boasts all of the same spectacular views, lots of biking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, and one of the only skate parks in Tahoe.
Furthering your gaze along the east shore, you will find, ” America’s Most Beautiful Bikeway” which is the Tahoe East Shore Trail.
It is a three-mile-long paved trail that connects Incline Village to Sand Harbor.
One of the most popular beaches in Tahoe, Sand Harbor has everything you would expect, towering pines, picnic areas, a visitor center, and even a beach area for scuba diving.
Sand Harbor is also the location of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival where you can see two shows, the play, and the spectacular sunsets that follow.
No matter where one calls home along the East Shore of Lake Tahoe you will find an abundance of outdoor activities near your front door.
